Every passport in the world is either red, blue, black or green.
Why is it that they use different passport colors you ask?
While there are strict guidelines and rules when it comes to these official documents nowhere does it specify the actual passport color.

The US has 3 passport colors:
Blue is for the standard tourist passport
Red is for government officials working abroad
Black is diplomatic personnel
When I worked abroad as a government official I was also given a blue passport, so if I was hijacked, I didn’t have to give up the red passport identifying me as a government official (we called the red and black passports the SMF passports: shoot me first).
Thank you for sharing this with us, Malcolm!
