And so, just like that, I’m off to Italy once again. I leave the home base of Palm Springs on September 1 bound for a small, medieval mountain village called Barga. I will fly from LAX to Istanbul (more on that later) arriving in Bologna. Grab a car and head for Barga. I don’t come to Barga completely naive. My dear friend Sylvia and her amazing husband Nick are revered residents of this picturesque village and so there is a soft landing in store. I will have a lovely flat, compliments of Sylvia’s friend, and begin \240the first month of my trip back in time and place, ready to venture out into the Italian countryside and discover so many unforeseen new adventures.
