Travel through Philadelphia was typical. Got in on time and sat on tarmac for over an hour. Got in bologna flight ok but had a less competent crew than usual. Got to Bologna Centrale and was starving so our first meal back in Italy was Burger King. Getting on train heading for Parma when a man cuts in front of me and my bag slams into his ankles. He had the nerve to make sure I knew. Of course I knew.... I think Bryan did it on purpose! Lol Got in to La Spezia early evening. Lovely little room we have just outside train station. Strolled down to a fry shop for calamari. Stopped off at a weed shop and bought a cake and a gram! I love Italy!

Went up the coast to explore Cinque Terre. Vernazzo won my heart with the rick beaches and little rock towers left behind by other travelers. Not a day I will likely forget soon! Nothing worth looking at in Corniglia as you had to hike up or down to get anywhere. We got back on train.... wrong one.... ended up back in La Spezia. Time for a nap! After a rest we headed back to our last 2 stops in Cinque Terre, Manarolo and Riomaggiore. Manarolo was stunning but to get a treble for the evening you needed reservations. We ended up in Bar Centrale in Rio. Long story short good food, bad service and free Sambuca! 😂

Rainy relaxed day in La Spezia. Woke up late, went to harbor. Had the most amazing marinated anchovies I have ever had at Mirrabello Gourmet. Bought \240a total of 4 vino Bianca’s, anchovies, 2 cans of sardines and salt cured capers for 30 euro! Afterwards we head for the San Giorgio castle. Then hung out for a bit in a cafe before heading back to nap, shower.

Pisa day! Only an hour from La Spezia so easy to get to from train station. Weather was psychotic. Pouring rain then beautiful. Spent the rainy time in a little cafe enjoying pizza and caprese. The tower was outstanding. These sculptures “lead” the way towards the tower. Ended our day back in La Spezia and the little fry shop we like. Tried something called panizza. Very Ligurian and we still haven’t figured out what it was exactly but intend to research. Tomorrow, back to Bologna and then off to Maronello for Ferrari museum.

Today was a shit show. Got out of la Spezia no prob. Got into Bologna around noon. Our hotel for one night was a carnival of fuck ups. No one is around and evidently you can only check in between 1-3pm. Anyway got out of there and on to Ferrari Marranello. Great time! Cabbie told us of Enzo restaurant. So we had aperivo then walked over when it opened at 7:30. I’m not sure what stars aligned that we got in and the others behind us did not. We were first up the stairs and the server asked if we had reservations and we said no. Luckily she sat us anyway. Everyone behind us however, was turned away by the other server. Anyway a most memorable meal. Bread basket was great served with “bacon butter” and a cheese spread with grilled veg. We split the tortellini as a secondi then Bryan had scallopini and I had stuffed pig trotters. Drop the mic, i \240think it is time to go home!
