Let me just start by saying I’m organized. I mean, I have to be organized for a living and yet I still managed to misplace my passport. WTF!
I looked in the places it should be and the places it shouldn’t be. Tornado Marie stuck the house, office and car. NO. PASSPORT. ANYWHERE.
When you are two weeks out from an international trip, your options are limited to fix this major mistake.
Option 1: Go to your local passport office and pay for expedited service. This option typically delivers a passport in 14 business days, but it is not guaranteed. 🙅🏻♀️
Option 2: Have your application reviewed by your local passport office, but request a hand carry. Give your passport package to a courier who will do the drive and stand in the lines at a passport center for you for a sizeable fee. 🤦🏻♀️
Option 3: Make an appointment with a passport center, make the drive, stand in the lines and walk out with a new passport or receive it in 8 business days depending on the center. 🤷🏻♀️
The choices sound awesome, don’t they?
In Florida, my choices for going to a passport center were equally excruciating - Miami or Atlanta. After speaking to the National Paasport Agency, Atlanta was the winner since it had an appointment available in a reasonable amount of days.
