Retirement became official yesterday at 4:30pm! First time in forever that I don’t have a job. Cathy and I are spending the morning getting packed for our trip to Ireland to celebrate 40th Wedding Anniversary. Our nonstop flight leaves SFO for Dublin at 5:25 this evening.
We will 11 days driving around Ireland.
Here is the general route we plan to take. We will end up the trip with an overnight in London to meet a new friend and visit the bench in Hyde Park where I proposed to Cathy.

Landed in Dublin. Arrived 30 minutes early. Unfortunately, there are no gates available so we are sitting on the runway waiting. Once we get there customs we wave about a 3 hour drive go our first Airbnb. More on driving a left handed stick shift on the wrong side of the road later.

Today was all about getting to Ireland and across the country to our first Airbnb in Dunkineely, County Donegal. We accomplished both goals and are trying to stay up a little longer. We are both beat! We did drive through Northern Ireland on the way here today. I only know that cuz the map says we did.. Absolutely no indication that we were leaving Ireland and entering Northern Ireland and Vica versa.
