Day 2 - Sea Day

Now I know where I am

This cruise is filled with people. Because it’s spring break half of the passengers are kids I find it very difficult to not correct them when they are doing stupid things. Today I saw a teenage boy trying to go into the buffet without any shoes on. The staff member at the entrance told him he needed to get shoes before going into the buffet. He just cussed her and walked away. Unbelievable!

I hit a jackpot!

It was a pretty quiet day with not much happening until this……

My biggest jackpot on a cruise ship!

So today in the casino, I had a nice jackpot. They brought me my money and some champagne. Cruise ship casinos don’t give up their money easily. This was a nice surprise! $2560 💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵

Lazy Sea Day

This little guy hogs the remote. 🐷

Didn’t do much today. Several visits to the buffet for meals. Relaxing by the pool until the ocean got upset.

🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

All the gambling has worn me out. There have been rough seas this afternoon. A lot of seasick people.

🤮🤮🤮

I have my sea legs and it hasn’t bothered me. One benefit it calmed down the crazy children on spring break. Poor kiddos 🤣🤣🤣

Nassau

Day 5 - Nassau Bahamas

The Port of Nassau is a cruise ship parking lot. There can be as many as 7 huge cruise ships docked here at one time. Today 5 ships are in port. That is 15-20 thousand cruisers. Here is an MSC Ship with a Carnival Cruise ship behind.

Freedom of the Seas is here today

Docked in front of Freedom is The Allure of the Seas. On the right is my ship Adventure of the Seas

Ship’s Chapel 💒

It used to be common for people to get married on a cruise. Although it is still possible, this area is mostly used for prayer and quiet reflection. Sadly, most cruise lines have changed these areas into escape rooms. That says a lot about where we are as humans.

Final Thoughts on this Cruise

  • I have never seen so many kids on a cruise. I have been on other spring break cruises, but none like this one. Apparently the drinking age in the Bahamas is 18 so that explains why so many older teens are on board. They all went to Senior Frogs yesterday in Nassau to get wasted.
  • It is the last evening of the cruise, and everyone is worn out. As we make our way back to Florida, we are having some rough seas. During dinner tonight in the buffet, the ship took a little hit from a wave and plates went flying. Nobody is out on deck, except for workers trying to strap down all of the lounge chairs. Probably a 40 mile an hour wind. Other than today the weather has been really good.
  • They say that everyone has a doppelgänger. That identical, twin person that looks exactly like you. well, I found my brother Jim’s on this cruise. This person looks EXACTLY like my brother Jim. I first saw him in the theater and I was 99.9% convinced that it was my brother. Only after staring at him for far too long did I decide that he wasn’t. \240However I’m sure that this guy was wondering why I was staring at him. \240Tonight I saw him again in the buffet and thought about going over to him to tell him about my brother Jim. But I thought that was too creepy so I left the poor guy alone and went about my business.
  • It is now time to pack. We will be back in Florida and disembarking early in the morning. The last night of a cruise is always weird. Everyone is in a quiet, somber mood thinking about returning to the regular lives and going back to work. It takes the energy level on the ship down a couple notches but cruising is always fun. The good news is, I won so much money on this cruise. They offered me another cruise for free. I don’t know when I’ll take that cruise. I have some time to decide, but I’ll definitely be going on another one!
