Set off on our trip June 18 and made it through 3 states to Mississippi. We stopped at the Buc-ee’s in Alabama, passed my old exit in Pensacola and ate at Foosackly’s. If you know, you know!
Slept in Serenity at the Love’s gas station in Magee, MS. They had designated RV parking spaces and extremely clean and nice showers
Headed to Dallas this morning!!
Made a pit stop in Vicksburg to see the riverside murals and the Mississippi River.
The T of T&K has been dying for years to bring the K to Pecan Lodge. And then T was nervous it wouldn’t be as loved as they hoped. Well…it was!! \240So amazing. Brisket, fried chicken and Mac & cheese!!
And then Pie from Emporium Pies!!
We started the day at Oak Cliff Coffee and it did not disappoint. Iced coffee, Strawberry Pistachio Scine, cinnamon roll, and a fresh(hot) loaf of sourdough bread!! \240Now next is The Dallas Zoo!!
We spent the rest of the afternoon traveling through Texas, stopping at Bass Pro Shops, yet another Buc-ee’s, a side stop to see Texas Longhorn, Wind Turbines-flew the drone, and dinner at “not as great as Pecan Lodge but still decent” BBQ.
Stayed a little past Amarillo in Dalhart, TX at a Love’s and it was amazing quality and service again! \240This one even had RV hookups so now we know to look for them. Woke up early and had donuts and Kolache’s and saw very large grainery silos. On to Colorado through New Mexico!

We made it to Colorado! \240As usual we found amazing food and picked up some cheeses for later. We Drove through Garden of the Gods, and visited the United States Air Force Academy.
Our campsite for the next few days. We brought the cheeses down to a pond by the Aspens and enjoyed some quiet nature.
Woke up to a beautiful day. Saw some deer at our campsite and drove into town for some breakfast.
We may have found our new favorite zoo. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo was breathtaking and the animal exhibits were unreal. Plus it was 6700+ feet in elevation which made for beautiful views! \240
Dinner at the campsite was so much fun and an amazing first campsite cooking experience. Thomas cooked sourdough bread, steak and griddle cheese on the hot fire and Kristy made Pad Thai using the camp stove. We even saw a wild Tom turkey and captured some last mountain view shots before bedtime.
We got to cross the Contenental Divide! \240Talk about some gorgeous views this morning driving from the campground to the divide.
We got to Pocatello for dinner with Aric and Kelsey at Jakers Bar and Grill. We had Idaho Potato’s of course! \240Dinner was great and company was even better.
Today has already been extraordinary!! \240First we had delicious doughnuts made from Idaho potatos…in Idaho!! \240Then we visited Shoshone Falls which was only operating at half capacity due to routing the other half for irrigation, and also Perrine Coulee Falls!!

Dinner was amazing! \240Bee dusted chicken, Tupelo biscuits with blueberry compote, fried green tomatoes and a dessert trio of Banana pudding and bourbon \240brown butter pecan pie. 😊
We had a great night at Sage Hen Rest Stop and are ready to head out early!
Sisters Oregon is the cutest quaint little town we’ve seen so far! \240Great coffee in the area and the views are stunning!!
Well…we stopped to take some drone footage in the Williamette National Forest and just happened to find an absolutely amazing waterfall!! After that we happened upon some wild Foxgloves, poppies and daisies! \240Then we found a covered bridge! \240What a day already.
The Simpson’s murals in Springfield, OR where the show is officially based out of and a cool diner in town we had to eat at!! \240We are loving all of the Pepsi establishments out here!!
Early early morning start (4:00am early) to beat the crowds and it was completely worth it. Multnomah Falls and Latourell Falls along the Columbia River Gorge.
We decided since we had so much time left in our day to drive to Trillium Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest. What spectacular views!! \240When we were headed back we found a really cool Rainbow Trout fishing spot. We scored our dinner!!
We are camping at Silver Falls State Park and we did a preview of our falls tour for the morning. W..O..W
We even ate the trout we caught earlier today and made Mac & cheese too!
Today was all about nature and hiking the waterfalls. Silver Farms State Park is amazing!!
Made it to our Washington home away from home for the next 3 nights. Dash Point State Park is beautiful and so nice!

We did some last minute touristy things in Seattle since the weather was a little better than yesterday. We saw the Freemint Troll and the skyline from Kerry Park. Unfortunately we couldn’t see Mt. Rainier, but we got so lucky the other night at dinner that we weren’t even a little upset. We got to see where the Seattle Mariners, and the Seahawks play! \240Go Stone!!

Breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day! \240Calico Cupboard Cafe in Anacortes, WA
Made our way up to Anacortes, WA for a whale watching tour. We were able to see harbor seals, sea lions, a brown pelican, Minke Whales and then made our way into Canadian waters and saw a pod of Orcas!! \240It was completely worth the freezing cold wind!
We stayed the night in Sequim to be closer to our early morning destination. We had the pleasure of being able to do a photo shoot at B&B Family Lavendar Farm. It was a beautiful morning on the farm. And of course we had to get coffee so we stopped at Hurricane Coffee Company!
We arrived to Olympic National Park and the sky was absolutely still. The water looked like glass and was so blue! \240We hiked Marymere Falls Trail and saw the trailhead for Storm King 😳.
We set out from our campground at Sol Duc Hot Springs and made our way to Rialto Beach. It was great to reach the Pacific Ocean! \240The fields of foxgloves along the way were absolutely spectacular!
Our campground was phenomenal! \240We soaked in the hot springs, grilled burgers and corn and had NO cell signal. It was very peaceful and relaxing.
July 1st-We woke up very early to make it to Hoh Rain Forest and man was it worth it. We saw deer, banana slugs, squirrels, mushrooms and ELK!! \240I have wanted to see one the entire trip and it happened. A family crossed near us while we were super quiet in the forest.
The final trek through Washington led us through Forks to the Tree of Life and towards the coast ending in Cape Disappointment.
Today has been about cheese and ice cream. We visited the Tillamook Creamery and Factory in Tillamook Oregon! \240They had the entire process visible and we got to sample some cheese. The lunch was phenomenal and the cheese…delicious!!
We rode down the coast and spent 8 hours going 4 hours worth!! \240We stopped at so many nooks and crannies. We ate fresh bay Oysters from Nevor Shellfish Farm, went to where they make Jocobson Salts, saw several lighthouses, saw a whale in the ocean, sea lions, TONS of birds, tempted fate at Thor’s Well, found tide pools, and finished the night at 7 Devils Bar and Grill. We could get used to the Oregon coast life…
We boondocked at an amazing spot last night right on the beach. From there we made our way down the last stretch of the Oregon coast and stopped at the Arch Rock, Secret Beach, and the Natural Bridges overlook. Oregon is a beautiful state.
Our drive down the California coast started with Elk and so far has led us to the Redwood Forest. Unbelievable beauty and no picture can illustrate the magnitude of the trees.
We trekked more inland and found the Grandfather Tree-a giant Sequoia, we found Patrick’s Point chock full of Sea Lions, and an entire Elk herd, first the bulls and then around 150 cows!!
We made it to San Francisco just in time for sunset. Even though there were some low clouds, the Golden Gate Bridge was still clear to view.
On the day of independence we took a ferry to Alcatraz Island to visit the Federal prison sight. We ate breakfast at Home Plate and tried some not so great coffee.
San Francisco was insane! \240Good food and coffee and lots of shopping. The flowers are in bloom, and the Painted Ladies were lined up all in a row.
Words cannot describe the concert and fireworks tonight. The San Francisco Symphony was absolutely amazing.

The fog shifted and was settled in the mountains and looked really spectacular. A few minutes later it was an entire sheet and changed the look completely.
Just down the way was McWay Falls. A waterfall that falls directly onto the beach. It started very clear and then the fog rolled in and cast a moody vibe onto the falls.
We drove through some more fog and through a beautiful line tunnel in Limekiln.
We were finally low enough out of the mountains to beat the fog a little and see the very healthy population of Elephant Seals. They were molting their winter coats and the young ones were learning how to fight.
We finished out the day with Tiger Sugar and Phillipe’s. A beautiful sunset greeted us to LA.
Beautiful location to call home for the next few nights!
Disneyland!!! We started the day at the Disneyland Park. We beat the heat and the crowds. We actually got to ride several things before both took over.
We moved from Disneyland to California Adventure which is all of about 25 steps or so.
We hopped back over to finish the night with the 50th anniversary of the Electric Light Parade. We even got to walk in Rise of the Resistance and man was it phenomenal!! \240We watched the Encanto light show on Small World and finished the night with a little shopping! \240This was such an absolutely fun day!!
Stop #1 in San Diego was a hit!! \240Steamy Piggy was so delicious. And I ate it all!!
Dinner was delish! \240We are at a tapas restaurant Cafe Sevilla and had a variety of deliciousness!!
Our trip to and through Arizona had a massive change in scenery. From boulders to sand dunes to Seguaro Cactuses. Very diverse and different then we’ve seen on our trip so far. Oh, and did we say hot?? 😳

The journey through Arizona to New Mexico was gorgeous as well as rainy and windy. So very windy.

We ended up having to stay in a hotel due to our AC that went out way back in Colorado. The temperature had been so nice and cool we hadn’t had to worry about it. But with us going through 105-113 degrees temps and the lows being around 85 we decided to give Serenity a break and sleep in a nice air conditioned room. Plus our room number was Pi!!
We stayed in a Yurt!! \240It was amazing and so much fun bejng able to see out of the dome looking at the stars.
We got to go to the San Antonio Zoo today! \240We saw Timothy the hippo and his gma Uma, Burrowing Owls, Rhinos and lots more! \240We knew it was going to be very hot today, but our sensor hit a new high for sure!
So…delicious bbq in Houston…yes!! \240The Pit Room had extremely flavorful pulled pork, the ribs were to die for, the brisket was so yummy and the mac and cheese was superb. And Guy Fieri even went there, which we didn’t know until we got there.
We made it into Louisiana and stayed the night. Rêve Coffee is so delicious!! \240So many flavor notes.
