#11: Eiffel hard for Paris! (Credit for pun goes to Mckenna)

On our first morning, we set off in search of the 2018 best croissant in Paris..

And found it, along with an adorable market.

After admiring the wonderful treats, we settled on a few, picked up coffees, and went in search for a place to enjoy our breakfast.

We found the perfect spot.

One of the things I really liked about Paris were the many parks that invite you to spend time outside. There were many more trees and greenery than I had expected.

We spent the morning wandering...

And then stumbled upon a movie set for the next Avengers movie. Pretty cool!

Amanda had to catch her train back at lunch, so then Mckenna and I were on our own again. 😳

Lucky for us, Amanda had several things planned for us, with lots of directions.

Main event today: Eiffel Tower tour. Armed with Google maps (with our track record, turning on data is no longer a question), we decided to walk the 2-3 miles and take our time along the way.

It was a long, but wonderful walk through the city.

We may have detoured a few times when we - really more like I - spotted something interesting. Mckenna was very patient and never complained about the extra mileage, even though her feet are a mess from all the walking we’ve done.

But our tickets were for 4:00, and I began to feel the clock ticking.

So despite my better judgment, I let Mckenna talk me in to renting Byrd scooters.

I was really nervous - but have to admit - they were a lot of fun and a welcome respite from the walk. And, we made it just in time!

We rode the elevator to the 2nd level, and the views were amazing. I had not realized just how big Paris is - it goes on forever!

We then decided to walk down, just so we could say that we did - all 674 steps. It was not hard, but my calves are still angry with me.

We walked a bit more to get a different view of the tower and more pictures.

And then Ubered home (I’m a new BIG fan of Uber!)

We finished out the evening with a delicious dinner, at a lovely outdoor cafe, in a small plaza.

It was a beautiful setting, with gorgeous weather. (Speaking of weather, we’ve been really lucky. Mornings are on the cool side; the hottest part of the day is ~4-6).

Looking forward to a good nights sleep, and our last day!
