Flying with Qantas to Johannesburg.
Here in Port Elizabeth for the last two days. Just relaxing and waiting to meet the group at lunchtime today and move on to Kwantu. The drive to Lwantu is 1.5hrs from here.
We are currently staying at the Singapore Lodge in Summerstand, one of the more upmarket suburbs of Port Elizabeth. \240The lodge is within a walled compound of high concrete fences and barbed wire although the are lots of trees, birds singing you wouldn’t really know you were in a compound. \240There is even a little family of Meerkats living here. They are so adorable.
Breakfast has been wonderful with a lovely buffet and hot dishes made to order.
This morning, checking the fences - walked around 9kms.
Clearing trees and marvelling at the Big Cats ❤️

Our Vet Nurse Group
Today was the first day we got to see the Big Cat Rehabilitation Centre. We were able to get very close to the cats, hear them growl and look right into their eyes. So beautiful. There was an Albino Lion 🦁 with blue eyes. Also a few Tigers 🐅 which of course are not native to the area but are being rehabilitated here.

Beautiful sunset over the African countryside
Driving around at sunset through the Kwantu property. We saw herds of Zebras, Wilderbeast and Antelope. Two beautiful Hippos in a dam - a mother and a baby splashing around. Unfortunately too dark to take photos but not to dark to absorb the wonderful experience.
