After spending two months in Saint Martin, we set sail for Antigua, much to the boys' dismay. They never seem to enjoy leaving their friends and familiar places. Oh well, tough luck! With a fixed engine, patched alternator, mad generator, temperamental water maker, and a newly installed refrigerator that magically defrosts itself (thank goodness for modern conveniences), the captain made the executive decision to move forward. Antigua, here we come... again! The passage was surprisingly calm, and luck was on our side as we managed to catch four big fish: a mahi, an ahi, and two barracudas. We quickly released the two intimidating-looking barracudas, fearing the dreaded ciguatera rather than their sharp teeth. We proudly declared the mahi and ahi as the keepers, sharing the news with our friends on Mimzy. This prompted a spontaneous DIY sushi party later in the evening, with Kim, Benji, and their guests coming over while Jason battled with COVID, enduring high temperatures and body aches. The sushi we crafted was nothing short of divine, made with the freshest tuna and mahi we had just caught. It was a culinary triumph that momentarily transported us to the shores of Japan, even if we were still anchored in Antigua.
In a burst of culinary creativity, I decided to put my skills to the test and create a Star Wars-themed dinner for May the 4th. With enthusiasm and a dash of Jedi magic, I whipped up a feast fit for the galaxy. First on the menu was Grogu chili, a flavorful and comforting dish inspired by the adorable Child himself. To accompany it, I crafted celery lightsabers, providing a crunchy and healthy side with a touch of the Force. Baked potato porgs added a whimsical touch, transforming the fluffy spuds into charming little creatures from Ahch-To. For some added flair, I sliced cucumbers into Tie Fighters, bringing a refreshing twist to the dinner spread. And to round out the intergalactic feast, I created BB-8 quesadillas, filled with gooey cheese and bursting with flavor. The Star Wars-themed dinner was an absolute hit, with lightsaber battles and laughter filling the air. Even Benji, our friend and fellow Star Wars enthusiast, couldn't resist the temptation and thoroughly enjoyed the out-of-this-world culinary creations. May the force be with us all!
