Plaza Nueva

Thursday March 2nd

We started off the day by going to the language school. After learning about different Spanish music styles and artists, we ate lunch. Then, we went to the Plaza Nueva to start todays activity which was a scavenger hunt around downtown Sevilla.

The questions we tried to find answers to

We were not allowed to use our phones and we could only navigate using a map and the locals. When we heard it was a competition we knew we wanted to win and the mention of a prize sweetened the deal. Anders, Kipp and I decided the best strategy would be to go around town and ask locals if they knew any of the answers as well as directions to the location. This strategy and a combination of running from location to location led our team to victory landing us the first place prize which was special deck of cards for games.

The spoils of victory

After the scavenger hunt, we returned to Centro Docente Maria and taught ultimate frisbee to some of the students. After school Jackson, Anders, Kipp, Justin and I went to play soccer at a nearby club. It was a great experience because we met some kids that went to different schools as well as bonding with our host students. Overall, it was fantastic 2nd to last day.
