Pre-flight drink! New York Sports Bar in JFK. Gin, something, something, thyme syrup. Pretty good and a nice way to relax pre-flight.

Henry and I had to have a little mother-son selfie while we waited for our food.

We’ve arrived in Sydney! Everyone slept at least a little and the kids were great until right about the last hour, so pretty impressive. Now on to the hotel to try and get checked in early so we can clean up. Oh and customs was a breeze, they didn’t even check my letter from Dr. Siegel!

We’ve arrived at our hotel in Sydney! We upgraded to the penthouse for a nominal fee and it is so worth it! Here’s our view!

Time for dinner. Jane is overtired and crazy and Henry can’t keep his head off the table. But the kids are hanging in there great. I’m super impressed with their ability to adapt. It took a long time to wake them up after their nap this afternoon but I hold out hope for tomorrow.

Sleepy buddy.

Cider at the pub. Very crisp and refreshing.

Featherdale wildlife refuge. Kids had a great time petting kangaroos, koalas, and wallabies.

Darling Harbour

Today we toured Sydney Harbor, including a stop at the fish market and lunch at Doyle’s. The kids were terrified of the boat at first but by the end they were acting like pros. We also stopped at Shark Island, a beautiful little island with some really unusual trees.

On the way home we walked over the Darling Harbor bridge. (It was a 25 minute walk each way to the wharf where the ship picked us up.)
