Snow was still on the ground in our neighborhood. This was the most significant snowfall in Georgia in a very long time. I’m just glad it wasn’t so much that we couldn’t go on a much needed getaway! We drove up I-75 and stopped in Cartersville for brunch. After brunch I perused Spool of Dreams, this cute shop with a super friendly owner. Barnsley Gardens was another half an hour drive to Adairsville. The snow did have some downsides, a lot of the usual activities weren’t going on because of trees down on the property and most likely lack of staff able to get there. I’ve only seen snow in North Georgia a handful of times in my life and it’s simply beautiful!
That afternoon, we explored as much of the property as we could before our dinner reservations. The highlight of probably the whole trip for Madeleine were the animals. Donkeys, goats, horses and bunnies, oh my!
After we visited with the animals we headed over to the ruins. The snow just made everything magical.
