Found a very nice campground. Clean, well kept and everything I like to have for a quiet break from Boondocking. Bellah Mine COE near De Queen Arkansas.
My allergies are back due to the abundance of pine trees.
Spent 6 days here. Calm lake, quiet woods, nice people.
Day 566. My spot.
Spending the night at Walmart in Shreveport, LA. Off to the woods tomorrow. I just looked at the map and the line for my travels today. I did not drive that straight! \240
Beaver Dam Park. NF \240The only National Forest in Louisiana. \240Very quiet. Nice facilities. 3 days. Note to self, don’t park under a nut tree. Acorns have been pinging all day. I hope it doesn’t keep me up tonight. \240I like fall even more now that I don’t have clean up the leaves!
Back in Shreveport to do errands. Sam’s, Walmart, Lowe’s.
Rain last night. Cloudy today. Cold weather soon here. \240Time to move south again. Rockport TX looks good.
Two more nights in Minden, Caney Lake area. Nice campground. Using electricity to do a few maintenance items and upgrades.
Drove through but didn’t see any camping signs. I did see a ranger station for it but it was after 5. I’ll check it out online. Maybe get there later.
Tonight I’m at the Walmart in Huntsville, TX. Headed into the woods tomorrow. Sam Houston NF.
Yesterday I finished the hammock rack I planned. Now I won’t need to find trees, which will be more difficult when I get to Arizona in a few weeks.
I’ve decided to continue on to Corpus Christi area since it will be warmer and plenty of cheap or free camping. Padre Island seashore Park has free right on the Gulf and water/electric sites nearby for as little as $4 per night.
Rest stop. Houston was the biggest city I’ve been through since Miami last winter. I don’t like big cities!
Made it 268 miles today and the truck only thru up once. It got over heated. 245 must be it’s limit.
5 days here. Nice for me. $7 my price. Others may want electric and hot showers which they don’t have anywhere on this island. I don’t need frills.
Discovered I couldn’t run from the cold. Low 40s for 3 night, upper 50s to low 60s daytime.
Staying another 7 days. Weather better...mostly. Storm stirred up the Gulf.
Been overcast with some rain for the last few days. Volts were 11.8 last night at 9pm. 11.7 at 5:30am. Less strain on the system in cold weather.
North Beach Campground, Padre Island Seashore NP.
Another \240must do off my list. Beach Camping! \2402 nights. \240Watching the tides.
Moonrise over the Gulf! \240The video isn’t that good but you can get some good from it. \240Notice the campfire on the beach.
First nigh of 6t at this campground but it is a part of Padre Island NP. This is on the bay side with great windsurfing. \240Only a few other RVs here.
My last sunset from my perch on Bird Island (Padre Island National Seashore). \240Moving tomorrow to the Beach for a few days, then headed West.
Flying J overnight. Has cheaper gas than Walmart a mile away.
Indian Bread Rocks Recreation Camp. Bowie, AZ \240Alt 4262ft. \240BLM FREE. put toilet. Water free at the shell at the exit from I-10.
Not sure how long I’ll stay here. It’s beautiful but lows at night in the 30s. Cattle are curious or they think I will feed them. \240Maybe I took their spot.

I love cactus!! \240This one reminds me of my 2nd ex-wife, beautiful but short and prickly.
