Tuesday was a great family day celebrating Grace’s birthday. Kids got their school work done in the morning and I took the afternoon off.
Cake and presents in the RV
Followed by ear piercing...she doesn’t look too sure about it
But was brave and happy that she did it!
Video - no tears!
We then went to see Maleficent 2 and out for dinner.
On Wednesday we headed into Boston for the afternoon to hang out with Kate, Rick, Abby and Jack. We walked and explored - kids are in front of the John Hancock building
Who will win? The tortoise...
Or the hare?
We made our way over to Boston Commons and let the kids run! And chase squirrels!
In front of a statue of George Washington
It was beautiful fall day
We found a Boston fire station
And lots of acorns! The kids and Jason have taken to having acorn fights during our hikes and Jack was eager to join in!
It’s a birthday week! More birthday dessert at dinner
The boys! Jackson is VERY excited to see the Smith family in Washington next summer so he can do some dirt bike riding with Jack.
A very busy day
Both slept on the way back to our campground
They even slept through running into a deer on the interstate. Truck ran right over it and is still driveable — we’re trying to get it fixed in a few weeks in DC.
Grace decided she was going to clean the RV and make her brother lunch on Thursday while he finished his school work. ❤️
I don’t mind working into the evenings if it includes a campfire and wine 🔥🍷
One of her favorite birthday presents was her makeup!
Video - end of the week pedicures
Halloween nails!
While the girls got our nails done, the boys had an intense Monopoly game!
Friday night - kids painted and carved their pumpkins
Hoping they make the trip okay to Jersey City okay where we’ll celebrate Halloween
Saturday we went back to Boston for more exploring. We jumped on the hop on/off trolley to see the main historical sites in the city
The Boston Tea Party museum was amazing! Very well done!
Making friends with Samuel Adams
Contemplating joining the Sons of Liberty
Aboard the Eleanor - one of three ships that had tea aboard until the Sons of Liberty tossed it overboard
Video - pour the tea into the sea!!
Aboard the trolley
An unusual carousel - no horses!
Exploring Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market
Lunch at Cheers!
We got off to explore the USS Constitution
It’s the oldest naval vessel still afloat (built in the 1790’s)
The original Cheers location (outside only)
Ready to celebrate Halloween next week in NYC/Jersey City!
