Hua Hin

Happy Sunday y’all!

We tried to find a place that did a full English breakfast today to treat ourselves but we failed miserably locating it! Got us to a new part of town though so not all bad.

We went for a walk along the beach in the afternoon and walked too close to the palace grounds... an armed guard warned us off! Oops. It’s happened to a few of our course friends too - even though we knew it was there the sign is tiny and on the sand so it’s very difficult to spot!

Afterwards we played cards and had a beer at our local restaurant, the lady is going to teach us how to make a dish tomorrow - Chinese broccoli and pork. It’s delicious. They do it for me without the pork also. We have to do an ethnography study for part of our course so we’re going to use this as part of it.

In the evening we went to Cicada Market which was really lovely. A higher standard of products here - lovely nik-naks and foods. And whilst Alex was perusing he was spotted by a student from our old school and his family!!!!!!! Mind blowing. I taught the child when he was in year 3 (2 years ago) and he was in Alex’s year group this year so they know us well. Absolutely flabbergasted that we bumped into them! Lovely family. They took a picture with us and will show people back at Hillbrook! They’ve been in Hua Hin for 2 weeks and this was their last night here - they’ve had a wonderful time. Back to Hillbrook on Wednesday for them!

Watched part of a Thai play in the market too which was interesting. Ate too much... but another lovely evening. No school tomorrow as well which makes it even better!
