We have finally arrived after a 27 hour journey!! We had a little trouble getting a taxi to our Casa, due to thinking we didn’t have an address for it. Albeit, a very kind taxi guy helped us out and dropped us off (all for £22!). We entered our Casa (Casa 1932), the two hosts were amazing! They greeted us with a beer each and showed us to our room. The owner also is so knowledgeable and told us that he co-wrote a section in the cuba lonely planet! It’s ridiculously hot at the moment!
We started the day eating pizza (leftovers) for breakfast...! Afterwards, we went on to the bank to convert our pounds to cuc. We joined the Long queue, and eventually were Allowed inside to sit down. We met a very friendly lady in the queue who gave us some tips. Afterwards, we started to stroll around... we went to the market which had some lovely things. We met a funny, very camp guy who told us we were beautiful and that we were his new best friends, but as expectedhe tried to convince us to buy his coconut ice cream! Afterwards we found a spot for lunch, it was a small street cafe. We ordered ham and cheese sandwich (£2.50!) and it was great, however the same can’t be said for my moijtio!! It was just water and mint....
Afterwards we fancied some nice Moijtios! And the bar we chose was reccommended in lonely planet, it was so nice! Very modern, a balcony too. We sat and had two drinks each (mango daiquiri and mojiotos), they were delicious! We sat and watched the rain pour down and the storm. Then we walked to find a vintage shop, sam gave us directions (we obviously got lost).. we eventually found it and it was a small ‘secret’ shop that the government had no idea about. We definitely will be returning to buy something!
