PSA: Best coffee I’ve had ever. Period.
It’s a pretty insane view where Eric stays on the hill. You can see between the row of vehicles and the other mountains is a blanket of clouds. ☁️ We are literally above the clouds up here 😲
I figured I would just take in the views while making myself some breakfast and getting organized with my new SIM card.
Made myself some breakfast with gluten free bread from the store and their version of Nutella haha. Nothing like a healthy breakfast 😂
Eric asked me to wake him up around 11am (after 3 hours of sleep 😲) so he could watch the competition in the half pipe.
We stopped for lunch quick. Another GF success- their GF bread is much better here. And apparently so is the booze ^
We hiked up to view the competition but got there as it was ending. Oops. 😬
The coaches were very impressed with his half pipe work. As was I!

Wanted to get some skiing in today but was just too exhausted.

He is excited to have a few more weeks to smooth out some parts before the World Cup takes place the week of Sept 3rd.
Eric was extremely tired as to be expected and had a quick nap before work. I took myself to the restaurant on the hill which closes at 3pm to my surprise 😂
Turns out the whole ski village is closed by 4pm latest. Don’t love this part as Eric heads to work at 4pm. If I am not creative this could result in me cooped up in the room watching Netflix for more time than I’d like. Sounds like a recipe for depressipe am I right?
This is all to say I’ve decided I will be staying predominately off the staff accommodation and instead at Eric’s second house (in the actual town of wanaka off the ski hill). Lots more to do- although he says the entire town is closed by 8pm but at least that gives me a few more hours of things to do once he heads to work. Also a way cleaner and bigger space to live in and right on the lake which will be beautiful!
Stay tuned to see how I discover hobbies during the evening in Wanaka. Gonna spend some time tonight envisioning a little routine for myself.
