Friday, March 3rd.
The forecast for the day on Friday started with 8 to 10 inches of snow. It had been in the upper fifties and low sixties for the past four days and on Friday it was supposed to snow almost a foot of snow.
Our flight was scheduled to leave O’Hare at 6 PM.
We both worked during the day and were worried all day about the weather.
Somehow we completely lucked out. \240It was snowing like crazy when we left Mokena, but ten miles north on 355 and it trickled to just flurries, and a few miles later it was dry. It was dry at O’Hare and we actually took off early from the gate.
