My journey starts tomorrow. Ready or not.
At the airport flying to Washington, DC then to Europe. \240Arrived in DC and what an experience. This airport is huge. Leaving for Munich in a few minutes. \240Arrived Munich. I have to say the flight on Lufthansa was one of the worst for sleeping ever. Seats were like concrete so it was like laying on a slab and narrow enough that you couldn’t even put your arms by your side. Not much sleep was had. Will think seriously about any Lufthansa flights in future. Jon you would not have fit in this seat. The guys around me were sleeping with legs folded.
Finally got to Paris. Looking up. Hotel upgraded me to a suite.
Typical French spring day - raining. So today is good day to get some work done and relax. Things will start picking up tomorrow and Sunday.
Changing hotels today. Beautiful weather but chilly. Will explore new neighborhood this afternoon.
Stands going up near Eiffel Tower for Olympics. Starting next month you will have to prove you are a tourist or have some sort of tourism activity to get into certain areas of Paris. Glad we came this month.

As you walk down the street to get closer.
You cut your own slices here. Amazing pizza.
Woke up to cold and overcast day. Let’s see what we have to do today. \240Nancy arrived today. We went and had a good lunch at one of the cafes.
We are doing a wine tasting this afternoon. \240It was very good. We learned how to properly hold a wine glass and how to tell what region wine comes from and what the tastes and coloring is in each region.
Nancy and the instructor at wine school.
The instructor with a couple from Mississippi and a guy from New York and older gentleman from Houston in our wine class.
Today we are doing a tour to Mont St Michel in Normandy. Had to meet tour at 7 am. \240It is 300 km from Paris to Mont St Michel.
Mont St Michel was started construction in 1023. It became a stronghold of the Duchy of Normandy. \240During the 17th century, it became a jail. It was a prison until 2863. \240They still have masses at the Abbey. \240The beaches behind the Rock are The infamous Normandy beaches.
In 1979, it was listed ss UNESCO World Heritage site. \240There has been no school here for 50 years and only 26 people live on the rock now.
Tide goes out at 7 am and comes back in at 7:37 pm this time of year. If you are walking across to the parking lots, you better be finished by 7:30.

Today we did a walking tour of Père Lachaise Cemetary. Then had lunch and crepes.
The Cemetary has over 2 million people buried in it. It has over 10,000 monuments. The waiting list is 35 years. This cemetery had few people buried here until they started digging up the remains of the rich and famous and reburying them here.
For those of you that don’t know, I just received word that my husband passed away. I am shutting down this blog.
