I checked in to the King George Hotel in Athens, which I highly recommend, threw down my bags and proceeded to the Mama Tierra vegan restaurant. Great food by the way!

From there we just walked in the direction of the Acropolis. It was early evening by the time we got to the entrance and bought a last minute ticket, not realizing it was about an hour from closing time. We wandered up to the top right as the sun was setting. I was not prepared for what I was about to see. In all my travels I’ve never witnessed anything so majestic and beautiful as the sun setting at the Acropolis and I legit stood there and cried. 😭😂

It looked like a scene from a movie 🎥

After that experience and being shooed away due to closing time we found a restaurant at the bottom, right outside of the gates and watched the end of the sunset and darkness fall on the Acropolis and man it is just a whole different level of jaw dropping. My camera didn’t get it good enough for my liking but you can see it’s still wonderful even in the dark.
