Another adventure.

AT 4:15AM 😳, I (along with 2000 of my new friends) was dropped off at an obscure location outside of Browning to run the 2022 Glacier Half Marathon

I had no idea the enthusiasm people can have for running. \240People here from all 50 states, Canada and Mexico.

2022 Glacier Half Marathon was a huge success. \240Ran with 2000 of my new best friends this morning. Route skirted the East side of Glacier National Park and ended at East Glacier Lodge

Challenging. \2405 miles up at the start and 7 miles down to town. \240

Incredibly well run and very popular event. \240Put on by Vacation Races. \240This is just one of the many runs they have with national parks. \240

As I connected with runners I learned that most people are race “groupies”. Just like following a band, they follow these races to run them all.

For me it was my first. \240I know it will not be my last. \240

Reflection:

This made me think. \240

If someone in the Flathead had said; “hey, let’s do a race where you would need to be at the start line at 4:15 AM, on an obscure road outside of Browning and let’s all run along Glacier Park;” the response would be “no way”!! 🤣

But market this same experience \240to the world: and the world shows up. \240🤷‍♀️

Just shows how much I (as a local of 20 years) take my backyard for granted.
