After settling in, we headed to the hotel restaurant for \240dinner around 6:30. Locals typically have dinner around 8-9pm, however Dustin didn’t sleep much on the plane and wasn’t sure he would make that late… on the plus side, we practically had the place to ourselves! Tomorrow we will dine with the locals 😉
Dustin read that it’s standard to order at least 2 appetizers along with your 2 entrees. We ordered a bottle of local syrah and pita bread, meatballs, and shrimp arancini to start. For our entrees, Dustin had the Mousaka (minced meat with eggplants, potatoes, and bechamel cream) and I had the lamb “klefitko” with veggies and lemon sauce. The restaurant also brought us a bread basket and olives. If you’re thinking that sounds like a lot of food… it was! We will not be following this advice for future meals. 😅 Shortly after we were seated, the sun was setting and the wind picked up, but the waiter was kind enough to offer us blankets!
(My attempt at a panorama shot 😂)
After we returned to our room, we jumped in the hot tub before bed. Once in bed, we both fell asleep quickly, although I was up at various intervals throughout the night. We are hoping we return to a normal-ish sleep schedule tomorrow.
