Our site at Normandy Farms Campgrounds - beautiful place with amazing amenities.

Lots of evergreens, giant rocks and it sort of has a camp feeling.

Pools, playgrounds, basketball, restaurants and giant rocks.

Day 5

New camp site at Normandy Campgrounds

Tons of evergreens

Loved this airstream and car

Dogwood in bloom here were so laden with blossoms it looked like they were weighing the tree down.

Heading to Cape Cod via the Bourne Bridge

First siting of lobster availability

Fort Hill was an amazing place recommended by the local visitor’s center lady who Ray endeared himself to immediately. It was so lovely that a plein air group of painters were there.

The wild flowers were amazing - these sweet peas growing all over.

One of the group painting there was kind enough to let me see her work and take her photo.

This was definitely my favorite wild flower - milk weed. I remember as a kid playing with the pods but did not remember this beautiful flower.

Really Ray - you couldn’t smile?

Kayaking and wishing I were too

Don’t know this wild flower but so delicate - I remember seeing it in Michigan I think

The Penniman House belonged to the sea captain - it’s a museum now - just loved the Victorian style

Today we’re heading to Maine should arrive around 2 and have 5 nights there. yes

Our co-travelers this morning.

So far the scenery isn’t too interesting but the signage for safety hints is amusing. Ex - Speeding to the beach, oh shell no!

Car scenes

We’ve arrived and the view from Chapman’s site is beautiful, breezy, tide out, can’t wait to explore.

Tide going out, when it’s out all the way it’s almost like there isn’t any water at all.

Take me for a ride - shopping in Trenton Maine near Acadia

Evening first night at The Narrows Too

The end of a terrific day

Day 7 waking up to this

Bar Harbor early morning before the crowd’s roll in for the lobster races. We picked up some blueberry muffins and they were delicious.

Acadia Hulls Grove Park Entrance

Day 8 starting off trying to get Callie into a dentist - fingers crossed - turned out they found a dentist and had to pull the tooth out - ouch! We tried to search out some stuff for the girls to do by driving around.

Drove past this great store - they have bouy birdhouses

Perfect 4th of July photo

And we found this secret swimming hole

Seawater Bay was the most beautiful drive - lots of lobster trap bouys bobbing in the water

Back to the secret swimming hole with the girls. Syd and Cloe swam out to this giant rock and back. Callie, Ray and we’re a little anxious as it was pretty far.

Had a nice lunch at the Atlantic (beer brewing) but had to rush back as Diane was afraid the tent would blow away, possibly taking her with it in a sort of MARY Poppins way. Had lobster for dinner 3 ways - whole, salad and spread - delicious!

Day 9

Woke up to a breezy foggy morning - just what we wanted.

View from our camper

Morning at Acadia - started at the wildflower gardens and it was lovely

Next we took a little hike to the water

Thunder Hole without the thunder

And Pizza for lunch

Day 10 Up at 3 to go see the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain - whose idea was this anyway?

Blueberry pancakes at Jordan’s 5:50 am

Our peeps

Otter Point exploring the rocky coast and the tide pools.

Little Huntes Beach - we loved it here, so beautiful with tons of beautiful rocks - called a Shatter Zone because the ways the cobblestones were formed.

Last stop in Acadia before the park gets too crowded - Bubble Rock with beautiful views of Jordon Pond was a great hike.

The Rick looks like it could roll right off as it seems perched on the edge.

Then onto Ber Harbor for a look around and some retail.

Day 11 Leaving Acadia and heading to Lake George - goodbye sweet camp site.

On the road by 7:30 hoping to get to next destination by 3:30

Day 13 Today is Extreme Adventure day for the girls.Cloe is super excited

Halle not as sure about it

Syd loving it

They loved it and the course was great, it went through this lovely wooded area with a small creek. There were 6 courses - Halle did 2 before she gave up, Syd and Cloe did 4. It was really hard work and required strength and balance.

Heading to Bolton today for lunch and some shopping

End of day by a roaring fire

Day 14 Started out with a nice stroll. \240Had a quiet morning, moved the campers and got ready to tube - on the Hudson River through the Adirondack State Park. It was truly beautiful.

Family portrait ready to tub

View of Judson River from our bus

Our crew - started to rain as we finished our float and rained all night. That really made bracking camp messy.

Looking up - these evergreen trees drop needles like crazy and the camp takes them up everyday.

Getting ready for the last leg of our journey.

Goodbye to a lovely, quiet and clean camp.

Day 15 Leaving Ledgeview campgrounds and heading to Lake Erie

Countryside as we travel

Hudson River

We arrived at our one nite/last nite stay at Lake Erie State Park. We only had electricity so we were almost boondocking. Nice campground right on Lake Erie.

The beach

They even had a lifeguard but it was a little too chilly to swim.

Family portrait

Our first dinner flop

But still a good time.

Day 16 - destination Crispy Cream oh and home!

Upstate NY near Lake Erie lots of grape vines. Really a beautiful drive heading to Route 90 and CC

Still can see the lake

Here’s one happy camper!!

9:30 we’re on 71 going around Cleveland - Kentucky here we come.

Columbus OH - getting close. We had a little traffic around Cincinnati but Waze took us around the worse part. Loved Waze, used it for the whole trip with Cookie Monster as our guide.

Home sweet home

Sunday clean up day!

Home sweet home - so good to come home to our beautiful new home with our new/old cut down and painted porch swings.

The hard part was emptying, cleaning and any repairs to the camper - but totally worth it. We were comfortable, cozy and cool for the 15 days we were on the road.
