No Accomodations pre-arranged (again); Arras will certainly have rooms but it’s 30 miles.
Last night was the \240first “hotel” I’ve stayed in so far in France. \240Showered last night before bed; prepped water. \240My feet will be okay as I’ve taped every hot spot, plus some. \240Luckily no blisters!!
Up and on the road by 6:15 after a fast breakfast — aka petite dejunne. \240Grabbed bread, cheese (a few slices of ham), and an apple for my pack. \240Head down and go — steady, steady, steady, no mid-afternoon coffe clach for me today.
Interesting scenes, including a Canadian WW1 cemetery. \240I will pay my respects as others come up, particularly in the Somme valley. \240I needed to keep walking
Arras and a place to stay.. \240Made it time to see a reply of the exciting finish of the Tour de France (and to guzzle a beer one of the locales bought me — so awesome to have a new audience). \240Just now checked in to the Maison Diocesaine d’Arras. \240No frills, very hospitable (I am fortunate today)! Sheets cost a little bit extra! I treated meself to a cafe gromounde!
Seven days walking the Via Francigena makes one weak!!
