Würzburg

Leaving Bruno Bby 🐈 and Würzburg by train on Wednesday Night 🤎

Packing went much better than expected -My suitcase isn‘t as heavy as expected at all :)) I’ll be just fine

I am clearly a bit nervous about all the plan - my stomach has been a tad upset and all over the place today but no problem 😌 I’ll manage it :) so far all is going well

2
Frankfurt Flughafen

Sitting at the Frankfurt Airport, Coffee und Eisentavkwtge intus :)

Es war eine äußerst wilde Nacht - I really did enjoy the Columbia sample class yesterday - that was entirely awesome !!

But my stomach was sort

of upset at night, I am pretty hungry habe been all day but i genuiky think it’s just nerves I am just super sentitbe to this stuff

but my stupid mouth is really annoying me !! i’ll definitely be j

keeping track of it in a separate album to see how the situation progresses and maybe ask to go to an urgent care in miami 😅 lovely lol

but so far so good my luge is check I easily got through security etc…the shuttle worked out all is good

what the actual hell - i made ALL MY Connections!! what is happening in the world? wow wow wow o wow i really didn’t believe it would work out but it was an awesome day of traveling - obvisouly j was crazy tired by the end of it but I got to see a bunch of new airports, people were kind and helpful and no flight was delayed - i go up. enough food - even though it was INSANELY EXPENSIVE BIT AT LEAST I ATE GOoD STUFF THAT I COULD digest -

on the first flight to brussels i sat in the middle seat and to my right was a guy watching videos in his phone out loud and the aisle seat was filled by on overweight man who I think had a mental/ learning disability - he took up quite a bit of space but he never actively invaded my private space or anything plus the flight was only an hour so it was honestly all fine :) then in brussels I made my connection, I really liked that airport- and I was able to find some food that i could eat :))

then i had my longest flight to washington, Where i unfortunately could eat the airplane food but i had plenty of snacks so it was all fine :)? and i didn’t have any stomach problems !! 😋😋😌 i really really tried to sleep but could manage, still i was all cozied up and even hab my lil eye mask and they provided neck pillows and blankets so i was pretty cozy 🥰 i watched chaos table which was really cool and choreographed new plies for modern 🤞 then in washington the immigration process took for EVER but it was all good i made evenrytgung on time - even though the Border control lady really grilled me and made me like super nervous but whatever i got through so no complaints :)) then at the airport i refueled on snacks :) and realized that my phone was about to die and all they had as charging option where ISb!! but all i have is ISBC so i actually had to go and buy a new charger at the airport 😭 it was sooooo expensive but i chatted to this really sweet older couple that like watched my bags for me at the gate while i went out to find a charger, thank i talked to a man in uniform standing at my gate and he was super helpful and completely took me though what i needed to do once i got to atlanta so i would make my connection there in time - he was mega nice and TGEN when i stoked into the plane he came out of the pilot cabin - which is when i relapsed that HE was our pilot and chatted to me and liked reassured me - SO KIDN and then n we even got there a bit earlier than expected…i chose to believe that he was trying to really look out for me and help me catch my next connection 😌☺️ On that flight i sat in the very last row in the aisle seat but the middle seat was empty which was really nice so i had a bit of extra space 🥰 and then

ATL airport woah paris for that airport - really it was SO WELL ORGANIZED - bless them - the signage was was clear and the people working there where super fast an efficient and it was insane - i like retrieved my suitcase and exactly to my left was the frontier check in counter where i recked my bag - it was so fast - then security wa crazy fast to - by the way At no airport did i ever have to take out any electronics etc if was mega nice , and thank i took a little train to my terminal and bam ! so nice !!

what was a tad annoying was that i had to pay extra for my carry on 😒 but oh well the lady was kind enough to tell me i should do it through the app as that was a little less expensive

than they changed my gate a total of 7 time s!!! always between E4. E6 and E 7 😂😂 my god that was annoying running around with all the other people but what ever - my last flight was all fine, i tried to sleep again , but OF COURSE I SAT ROGHT INFRONT OF A 3 year old that thought it would be super fun to play with the tray table the ENTIRE flight - but at that point i was too tire to care - then i got to miami - smoothly retrieved my luggage , sent a picture to cathrine so she would recognize me and she picked me up right at the baggie claim carousel 😊😊 luis and cathrine are the nicest people they drove me home and showed me my room where i quickly change into my PJs and fell right a sleep - woah what a day - im so proud of how well it all went and am so happy that now all my other flight will be far less stressful and complicated ☺️

entry for the 4th of october

I woke up around 7 because i needed to poe and then couldn’t fully fall back as sleep - i did rest though for another hour and a half just listening to the rain oh rose which was lovely, i really don’t have lots of jet lag which is awesome and feel pretty well adapted to the time here 🥰 Also the bed here is soooo comply it’s awesome

i then took a long as shower which felt amazing - i not only have my own room but even my own bathroom here 🥹🥹✨ wowi

then i went into the kitchen chatted to luis and cathrine while enjoying their coffee as they created a traditional venezuelan breakfast - arepas

a cornflour play bread that you cut open and stuff with all kinds of fillings - i was already being complicated with the fructose and what not so i told them i was a vegatrian not a vegan - and had some of the egg inside mine and some venezuela. white cheese (which is fine for me - the rest of the time i spent here so far i have easily eaten vegan and it’s not like i’ll die or anything plus im still in my trail vegan phase :))

C and L had kind of a battle of the arepas -both of them made a batch using a different recipe - i tried both and must secretly admit that i enjoyed als more 🤫🤫 I have allso just really enjoyed talking to them and getting to know them they are the most fascinating and interest people their passions and history and jobs and everything - Cathrine has so many businesses she used to have a professional bakery making and now she runs an event company that focuses on cooking experiences so cool!! After breakfast we all worked on our own stuff a bit - Their dog jacques is sooo cute he hung out with me as i did my work - mainly for the article by the pool

then we started the first lag of my privet tour of miami - wow these people are so so kind they are putting so much effort and time into showing me the city and paying for all my meals and everything wow

First we drove to south beach and then drove up all of mimi beach - it really reminded me of venice beach but was BERY touristy - still really cool to see all the colorful buildings - a wild mix of 1920 art deco and 80s style building and they pointed out so many historic and pop culturally relevant buildings - ike the versace mansion or the Cleveland diner…

think we headed to subwoofer which i instantly LOVEd the neighborhood geld really young and full of urban culture and the murals were super cool, i also loved that even the side walks were spray painted - the stuff they had in the actual wunwood walls exhibit was super cool too !! there i even had the chance to spray paint myself 🥰🥰 it was so cool !!

also all the people here are so jice and it’s crazy that everywhere you go people speak spanish !

the n we garbbed lunch at Sweetgreen and had some more really great conversations-you can really tell how proud they are of their kinds - especially andrea though which is making me feel a bit bad for sophia 🤔

the lunch was great i was able to adapt everything to my food needs :)

thank we walk around the nighboirhiid a bit more and went to this really cool local ice cream shop where they had a bunch of unique flavors and lots of vegan options :)) i was able to get 1/2 scoop of strawberry-coconut water sherbet and 1/3 scoop of a peanut butter brittle vegan ice cream 😋

we also passed joes liza’s and cathrine got a pizza - it’s a copy of the famous joes pizza in new york that is so beloved by celebrities even since Jay Z said it’s his fave pizza joint

on our way home we drove through the design district aka the area with all the designer and big name brad stored which was really fancy

we also drove past all the fancy private - celebrity owned islands !!

then we got back in the far and drove home to change and do some more work

at night we headed to coconut grove which is such a cool and beautiful area too - lots of shopping and cafes and high quality restaurants - even michelin star restaurants

we went to an all plant based asian fusion restaurant called PLANTA and got a bunch of food to share and it was all really good 🥹🥹 so nice of them to adapt - afterwards we walked around the area which i really like everything was so beautiful and light up super romantically

on our way home we drove through coral gables - which was really nice -

they showed me the Biltmore hotel - where luis grandmother stayed many times - she sounds like a fascinating lady !!

and we even got a little teaser of UM on our way home

back at the house i made some tea and took a nice shower after which i snuggled up in bed and fell aspleep super fast ☺️

entry for the 5th

wow today was so awesome again !! I love love love this city - even though Ot has been raining my entire stay - it really is hurricane season - which funnily enough is also the name of for the UM stundents- also there’s another hurricane coming in from the golf of mexico that’s supposed to hit the coast on thursday - none the less There are so many beautiful neighborhoods here and the people are so kind and there so much cool stuff to do!! I will say though that i don’t love the fact that they don’t have any winter here and that there isn’t really lots of public transportation - but other thank that it’s pretty amazing here and again the Duques are so nice

i woke up around 9:10 - yay a nice 8 hours of sleep i have officially adapted to the time 🥹 and i slept so well :)) first I had some delicious coffe and luis showed me a bunch of cool stuff he’s proud of around the house , and his photography and the rest of the house - he really is a classic dad hahaha

thank just the two of us headed out - i had told him how much I LOVE books stores and to read and he had said that there was this incredible local book store he had to show me and BOY

he DID NOY OVERSELL IT!!! Books&Books was incredible the entire antmosphere - i felt so inspired just wow !! they had everything it was so beautiful everything in dark wood -huge dark brown wooded book shelves to the ceiling and awesome music (eg acoutist hotel california) and it smelled liked baked goods and coffe because there was a fricking cafe inside the book store?!! hello? dream come true and it was so cool to see so many people there - there was even a book club happening and there were so many great books and they even had this cool little thing called blind date with a book 🥹 and the people there were super kind - I legit spent like 2 1/2 hours just browsing though the store and then luis got me 2 books so so so kind - one is Sapiens which we had talked about at dinner and then i got to chose another one - these people are far too kind

thank we also grabbed lunch in the cafe which was really yummy - i also tried a beetroot latte there which was so good - it was serving all the cozy autum vibes 🥹🥹 🍂

After that we drove through coral gabel peppery and wow - i get why mom is so obsessed with it every single building is incredible and all the trees and then also the more commercial area is so beautiful - we also drove pst a relay cool public pool that was built in the 1920s and still opens every summer

then we drove to UM and walks around campus and my oh my the famous is really kiev and if was pretty cool to see all the college kids - I could see myself there - Im thinking o can definitely apply here - i don’t know if it’ll be my top choice since im on such a new york fan girl trip right now but who knows this is definitely an amazing option - i can see myself walk along campus grabbing dinner in coconut grove , joint the book club and books&books ☺️ Now err went back home for a short break where i just repacked for tomorrow and wrote my lil entry and next i’ll change and get ready for dinner at L and Cs friends house tonight:)

we left for our dinner around 6:30 and drove through Cubis Cane and WOW that neighborhood is BEAUTIFUL it’s its own little island and truly THIS is where the richest of the rich live the horses and cars a nd yachts were insane - but there in flood zone 1 and you can really tell, just through the rain there was already lots and lots of water collecting in the streets it was pretty crazy - from there we drove to Brichnell where The Duques friends live - in one of those condo apartment buildings with like a doorman and everything

it was hilarious to see how much cathrine loved the place because oh boy the i told was terrible but O guess there all just really latin and live that style hahah lots of red and black leather and stuff 😂 the whole thing was a dinner party where each of the 3 couple brought / prepared a course because they all work together in the chef events thing … the first course were steps and I have to say - I’m not really i tk them 🫣🫣🤫 O don’t know they taste kind of bond and i really don’t particularly enjoy the venezuelan white cheese it taste like nothing 🫣🫣 but then we also had a salad and they made me my own little separate bowl which was very sweet and as a main i had some carrots and rice - the final course was a passion fruit tiramisu - which at first i was very excited by because i can eat passion fruit but K did not like it - and usually i force myself to eat these things out of sheer ikitness but i just said i was full after the first few bites because t was basically that store bought vanilla cake - which i don’t like - so much cream 🫠 and then some passion fruit curd - it was just not my taste ..yikes i am a bit of a snob, but In proud that I didn’t cave to some people pleasing manner and stayed true to myself 🫶🏼 (BTW im so annoyed by my digestive system I have now been constipated for three days straight and am starting to get pretty unconoy- i feel line i’m carting around a 3min the year old baby 🫠🫠)

One a more fun note the people - especially the hostess were super interesting - she is a Columbia. who grew up in Miami and then went to Berkeley where she studied graphic design and communications and then moved to mexcico where she was the first person bring the internet to mexico so she controlled all the internet services for the federal \240bank, the government , large corporations …absolutely insane and after spending 12 years there she moved all over the place in the US new york, san fransico ….so cool she also had a terrible accident 14 years ago where she spent 3 weeks in as coma - and now she has some slight cognitive impairments but her story was amazing - so strong - so it was really enriching to get to know her

also i found out that cathrine’s uncle used to be the dean of UC berkeley’s school of englisch and she also has a cousin who works there now and she already offers that if i want people to prof read any application essays etc she will connect us and handle it 🥹🥹 my god these people are kind

After dinner we haedaec home where i quickly showered and fell right asleep

uhh also we drove through dowtiwn miami on our way home and boy that looked cool there were a bunch of clubs and so many people out

Edition for Eugene visit (7th and 8th)

After a long day of traveling - quite instance another 4 flight journey (the full 6st of October - I finally landed in eugene at midnight) It was quite interesting to get to see so many different airports - Dallas, Sacramento, San Frabsisco - which is a very nice airport and eugene - a tinyyyy little airport

I was so happy that all the suitcase craziness worked out and Margret was kind enough to meet me at the airport so I could hand of my suitcase and then continue my journey with only thw carry on :) She did seem at tad confused she was calling me but didn’t denn to registers that she had called me and was talking to some one because she was looking for me …luckily i found her and she took my luggage.

I then moved on to San Fransick and the. Eugene - luckily at all the Califonrio airport I was able to find little snacks and food I could eat (only dallas had been a bit complicated)

Kat picked me up from the airport and we went straight to her apartment - where o took a short shower and fell straight into bed. It’s just her and Minnie (her kitty) living in a little apartment directly across the street from the school of education. I slept on her couch in the living room that was actually surprisingly comfy though:)

BUT OMG her apartment and her car are SO SO SO MESSY ewww it’s just like it was back in colorado except it’s the entire sortiment - my god - and there was also kind of a funky smell and she had dishes everywhere- yikes

still i survived - i guess i still knew haw to handle those kinds of situations based on my living experiences with Sophia as my roommate back at Case…

After sleeping in in the 7th Kat made us some waffles which was really nice, we got dressed and headed out - it was really nice weather in Eugene and the town is very cute. Oregon in gegenläufig is quite a lovely state - really reminds me of Colorado or the Bay area really chill friendly people 🥰 sort of outdoorsy and hipster types

First of we stopped at Durch bros - where I had a toasted cold brew and then we went to target …i knew i couldn’t buy anything but i loved looking around ☺️☺️ we spent a LOOONG time in there also kat gave me a durch beis shirt that aaron had gotten for me and sent to her and a bunch of cute stickers 🥹🥹 so sweet of her

Then we parked at her sortiment and started our walking tour across the UO campus which is just so very pretty - here we meet up with Matt her boyfriend- an architecture student who is very sweet- a little like a teddy bear - he really balances out Kat they seem like a great match and it was so sweet Kat kept saying I’m the first in the family that gets to meet him :) eventhoigh they’ve been a couple for roughly 9 months now

Aftertaste we went to safeway to grab some food and then we headed home. we ate our pumpkin soul to get i tk the fall spirits and called emily :)

then we got ready and headed out to meet with matt and some of kats friends. We all went to a little student bar (at 9 😂) and got back around midnight

the next morning we got up, i had some breakfast and then Jag showed me her face little coffe shop near campus :) after that we went to a beautiful large bookstore which also shelled used books and I fell absolutely unloved with their giant collection - I could help myself I got 2 books 🫣🫣🧸 oopsie but they were both second hand

we then drove into downtown - facetimed the rest of the mebust clan, did some strolling around and window shopping, grabbed lunch at a little japanese restaurant, visiertes another really cool used books store and then Kat drove me to the airport

I flew back to Sacramento over SF again - all went well :))

M picked me up around 11:30 - and we headed home where i took a shower and went to bed
