From now on this is how I want to fly !
#businessclass
Just kidding, this is a nice perk but I can still handle economy if needed 😬😘
Just arrived in Singapore.
I didn’t see the last 13 hours pass. I understand now why people would pay that much to fly business class. It was the perfect beginning to my holidays !
Now I’m waiting for my next flight to Jakarta. 🥰
•••
It seems Indonesia and Singapore are worried I’m here to stay - they asked me all my flights details proving I’m gonna leave the country 😑🤣
Enjoying a drink while listening to live music at the Hotel bar.
Just love the fact that it is called a “Son of a Peach” and it is really tasty 😊
Wedding day 👰🤵
The ceremony in itself ressembles a lot à church ceremony ~ however all in Indonesian so ...
Then the reception is quite different.
A grand hall with a stage for the newly weds where they will sit to receive friends and family’s blessing all along the evening.
Also where group pictures will be taken.
No tables or sittings (except for older attendees) and food booth installed a bit everywhere in the ballroom.
So today I met up with a friend of a friend who introduced me to a typical Indonesian breakfast.
Looks like I ate for 3 but actually they put everything on the table and you just eat whatever you feel like having. In the end they only charge you for what you consumed.
Afterwards, I caught a cab and went on to discover the places to see in Jakarta. To be honest most of the recommendations are museums and I’m not a great fan of spending hours in a place what I just have a few hours to spend. I much prefer to walk around and look at the architecture, the monuments and the people.
So I didn’t see much but nonetheless I enjoyed it. I went to Kota Tua (the old town) which is not that big then to Monas (the national monument) which is located in the middle of Merdeka square ... both were closed 😅 but I snapped a picture from afar. Finally, as I was not too far from the Mosk and Jakarta’s Cathedral I decided to walk there.
I’m not gonna lie I caught attention as I believe tourist don’t usually walk at the hottest hours of the day in that part of town. Well I did it 😉 and I’m alive !
The prayer had already started at the mosk so I decided to pass along and just went to the cathedral. Which is a beautiful building with white towers and wooden ceiling.
Arrived at Bali on the 10th late evening, I took the time on the next day to relax and chill at the hotel and enjoy my private pool 😬💦
On the next day I met with my tour guide who will take me around to discover Balinese culture.
First a traditional dance
Then a stop at a Batik and jewellery workshops.
After that we went to see a traditional Balinese house.
And before lunch we went to the Manley forest near Ubud.
After lunch we went to Tirta Empul temple where springs the Holy water and a sanctuary for people to purify themselves.
Then it was time for coffee !
Finally we went to enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the rice terraces
My last in Bali I went to enjoy the sunset with friends at Uluwatu temple while admiring a traditional Kecak dance.
No music, only a group of 40 men singing/beatboxing a capella for the dancers.
My absolute favourite character was definitely Hanoman, the Monkey God who was going around sitting on people, acting like a monkey. So funny 😂
