Culloden House Hotel

Our journey to Ireland starts today. We will be leaving for the airport shortly for our 6:00 am flight.

We arrived in Ireland. Our luggage did not. Sound familiar? Seriously, not kidding. We are staying at the Westin hotel in the city center. A Marriott property so we will have a firm bed to sleep in tonight 😊. I need to think of this as an adventure! It’s just stuff.

We did a walking tour of Ireland with an incredibly knowledgeable guy. Ireland has quite the history as you can imagine.

36-38 High St, Gardens, Kilkenny, R95 KC86, Ireland

Welcome to Kilkenny.

Kilkenny Castle

We spent the day \240walking \240along the streets of Kilkenny.

Gate guard 😊

A unique little area with shopping and food along with historic sites. One way to see and learn about some of the historic areas is to take the train 😊.

Yep a 30 min ride on the train through the city streets.

Definitely more of tourist area so expect lots of people and a bit of a hard time parking. An area not to miss is across the street from the Kinkenny Castle. It’s where the stables were located. Inside are local artist and vendors. Truly worth the visit.

Cahernane House Hotel - Killarney Hotel

We are off to Blarny Castle - roughly a 2 hour drive from the Manor. Let’s see what the day holds.

When driving one needs to pay attention to the little gems along the road. We saw a sign for glassblowing and decided to stop. Sooo glad we did.

The concierge 😊

Glass blowing

Making of a wine glass

Charming shop where you can buy glass or other local art

After this stop we continued in our way to the Blarney Castle.

Blarney Castle

What does one do at the Blarney Castle you may ask. Kiss the Blarney Stone of course!!

If it looks like we are upside down…we are 😊

The castle was absolutely amazing truly reminiscent of a mid- evil castle. The grounds were just as spectacular.

What would a castle be without stocks for those who don’t behave themselves.

The end of todays journey brings us to Cahernane House where we will spend the next two nights.

5
Kerry Cliffs (Aillte ChiarraΓ)

Today we are going to do what is called the Ring of Kerry. It’s a roughly 3.5 drive (without stops) \240through quaint towns and sites.

First stop Torc \240Waterfall.

Here’s a video

Ladies View the Lakes of Killarney.

Next stop I didn’t take pictures but of course I shopped 😊. Prices of Marino wool here are crazy reasonable in Kinsale Ireland.

We did visit a shop that is a co-op of local vendors. These really are the hidden gems you need to look out for.

Then we made our way to the Skellligs Chocolate Factor. Yum!! The road to get there was insane to say the least. Play the video 🤪.

Our next stop after the chocolate factory was to the Skelligs Cliffs. Absolutely stunning! And would have been missed had it not been for chocolate.

6
Cliffs of Moher

Today we start our trek to the Cliffs of Moher.

It’s absolutely stunning.

There is a farm right next to the path you walk to view the cliffs.
