I decided a week into our Scotland/Ireland trip that it would be neat to try and keep a journal and photo log to share with people. I’ll have to do a bit of an overview of Scotland and pick up in real time with our journey to Ireland tomorrow.

We had quite the stressful start. Our flight from Cleveland to DC was grounded due to storms. We got to DC and to our gate with one minute to spare. We landed in Edinburg and as we suspected our luggage did not make it. We did get it roughly 2.5 days later the hard part was we were on the move.

I should mention that not only do they drive on the left in Scotland the steering wheel is on the right 🙄. Oofa.

Laser focus

A few planned things got a little sideways but at the end of the day that’s what makes things so interesting. We would have missed the Birds of Prey and the birds of prey experience.

Orla the Golden Eagle

We stopped at a whiskey distillery and lucked out on a tour and tasting. Or maybe it’s me who lucked out 😁.

Yep they are alllll empty

Oh and I almost forgot we stopped to visit and feed the famous highland cows…Hamish, Honey and honeys calf Holly.

Honey

We have seen some absolutely stunning scenery. And some amazing castles. We did not however see the Lochness monster when we were in Lochness.
