35 days to go!!

I have been planning this trip for six months now. This is probably the most extensive trip we’ve ever taken. My wife has never been to Asia, and the kids will have their minds blown by everything I’ve packed into here.

I always find that the planning phase of a trip makes you enjoy the trip even before you takeoff. So whenever I have 20 minutes, I sit at my computer and I continue planning, down to the most minute detail. Sun Tsu said that a plan never survives contact with enemy; whatever. In those 20 minutes, I am already on vacation.

I am using an application called Wanderlog and it is fantastic to plan effectively and to keep everything in one place.

Anyway, Japan is a place like no other, and my little family is about to find out the hard way.

I mean, seriously. Does Audi offer this?

32 days to go!!!

Cinzia and I are food enthusiasts, so I am planning the most delicious journey of our lives! For our trip to Japan, we are taking our taste buds for an epic adventure. Japan has savory delights, sweet treats, and offers a culinary experience like no other. So, hopefully the walking will compensate for the extra calories, because there will be no diet once we're there.

Here are some of the top foods we must have while were there. I will add more in the coming days.

1. Sushi: The Fishy Superstar

First up, the celebrity of Japanese cuisine – sushi! Whether you're a fan of raw fish or prefer something cooked, sushi has got you covered. Picture this: delicate slices of fresh fish, perfectly vinegared rice, and a dollop of wasabi to make your nose tingle. It's like a flavor party in your mouth! A sushi chef once told me "it's all about the rice". Nothing you can do abut the fish, but you control the rice. "Food" for thought...

2. Ramen: Noodle Nirvana

Next, let's slurp our way to noodle nirvana with a steaming bowl of ramen. This isn't your college dorm instant noodle – it's a magical concoction of rich broth, tender noodles, and toppings like pork, eggs, and green onions. With noodle-slurping sound effects!

Cinzia is a noodle fan, and Phoenix has become obsessed with ramen. Leon is a little more picky - he might just stick with eggs.
