Martinique

Back in August, while on a trip (working), Jeff sent me a message saying bring home an American Way Magazine. \240Translation: \240It’s time to go somewhere. So what did I do? \240Well I’m glad you asked. I took a picture of the map of the American network and sent it to him.

Some homemade something or another 😉

Simply postcard beautiful!

Beautiful Blue Waters. It was just so lush and green. It rained everyday which is what makes it so gorgeous.

He honed in on this little tiny area on the map and said 🤔, we haven’t been there yet.

Dried coconuts alongside the beach. Naturally beautiful!

Tres Rivieres French Plantation Rhum

You already know where this is going. So when I got home, my homework was laid out for me. We plotted and planned and before the sun had set that evening, the hotel, car rental, and flight was booked.

We just pulled over on the side of the road and I couldn’t resist. #alwayscarryacamera

These little fellows are actually edible and hunted during certain times of the year. They were on the grounds of the Rhum Distillery. They could either hear foot steps 50 feet away or they felt vibration. Either way “crab OUT”. They scurried so quickly to get into their burrows in the ground as soon as people walked by.

Riding along in our automobile...

Rhum Distillery

Neither of us can speak a word of French. Google Translate was our best friend. Please, if you go, and don’t know French, learn a few words because you are literally on an island all by yourself. Everywhere we’ve gone we could communicate with at least one or two people who spoke English, even if it was broken. \240Our car rental guy was a tremendous help but wee wee were a hot mess everywhere else in Martinique 🤣. \240Still I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything in the world. I went, I saw, I conquered.

Lots of history was displayed throughout this town of Ducos.

Gorgeous church in Ducos

This is the inside of the church above in Ducos.

One My FAVORITE drinks 🍹 there. The Passion Fruit was fresh and had a little sugar sprinkled on top which they lightly torched. YUMMY!!!

These are just a few of the photos from Martinique. I hope you’ve enjoy the journey.

Until the next time!
