Dear friends and family,
To many of you, our decision to pick up and move to Omaha, NE may have come as a shock. (We promise you, we ourselves are still getting used to the idea!) There were many factors that went into this, but the most compelling reason of all is that this would be a step forward in a vision we have for our future as a family: a debt-free, financially stable future that will enable us to do all the fun things, take care of our people, and give generously.
Over the past 6 months it has become evident that we already had the key to getting out from debt, right under our feet. By selling our house, we would be able to pay everything we owe and start over fresh, saving up for the next one and for our future.
Selling our beloved little house is heart-wrenching when we think of all the memories we have made here in such a short amount of time. However, this isn't the end of our story in California by any means and we will be back when the time is right.
In the meantime, we hope you'll follow along on our journey to Omaha here on this travel diary. We are so excited for this new adventure and very grateful to all of you who are cheering us on.
Love, Molly, Marco, & Lydia
Hi friends! Well it was a very long weekend but we did it— we successfully sold our first home and are now officially on the road to begin our next chapter as a family in Nebraska!
It hasn’t been easy though. The last week is a blur of cardboard, packing tape, and so many family and friends who have stepped up to walk through the nitty gritty details with us. I’m a little sad that toward the end it was impossible to relax and enjoy the house, but we definitely had our share of happiness there.
Last night we were both up until 4:30 wrestling our stuff into the shipping trailer. Unfortunately for Marco I haven’t been working on strength training so he really did the bulk of the work. I’ll admit there were a few moments of despair where it just seemed it would never get done and we would have to cancel our plans and fail to get out in time. It got later and later and we finally realized how tired we both were when I accidentally dropped a ladder on Marco’s foot and then thinking he did it to himself, scolded him to be careful. 😂
We spent our last morning in the house clearing out the rest of our luggage and packing up the Tesla for our road trip. Our amazing next door neighbor allowed us to toss a few last minute things in his trash and borrow a ladder so Marco could stuff more things into the trailer that we could not pack before. I was doing a last minute wipe down of the house and clearing out the kitchen and tossing all the last remaining things we would not take with us.
By the time we drove away it was about 11 am and we arrived in Henderson at 5, just in time to enjoy the pool. Time to relax and take a deep breath!
More tomorrow!
All packed up!

One last pic in front of our little house. We loved living here!
Ready for a new adventure! 🚗👨👩👧❤️📦📦📦
Today we slept off the stress of the past few days and spent our day at the pool. Green Velley Ranch has a beautiful pool with a sandy area that Lydia loves to play on and build sandcastles. We spent our day alternately swimming and resting in a cabana. Mommy and daddy enjoyed the poolside menu and Lydia enjoyed continuing to learn to swim in her water wings.
Lydia loves to cheers with mama and daddy. (Pictured: Ice water & \240giant mai tai)
Life is good 😸
Today we enjoyed the last few hours of our stay at Green Valley Ranch and then piled back in the car to continue on to our next destination near Zion Naptional Park.
We walked around a tiny bit before the sun went down.
Today we stayed in Jackson. We enjoyed the Grand Tetons and surrounding area. Lots of bison and elk sightings! We started off the morning with Marco getting an amazing shot of a bull Moose with his new spotting scope.
Lydia's main interest was less the national wonders and more the swimming pool at the hotel where she made friends with a little boy who loved to entertain her with handstands in the water. She made some major progress in confident swimming too! We are so proud! 🐠
Grand Tetons
Jenny Lake is gorgeous, it is deceivingly large but you'd never know it unless you go there. The water is completely clear and refreshing.

Today a long day of driving from Cody, WY to Rapid City, SD. We stopped along the way to briefly say hello to Mount Rushmore.
The last leg of our trip has finally arrived! Today we are going from Rapid City, SD to our destination of Papillion, NE. It's been a good trip and we are excited to begin our new adventure.
