Another week is gone and one more item checked on our “must see” list — Niagra Falls. Upstate NY was beautiful when it wasn’t raining this week. Our campground was one of my favorite so far...pure wilderness! Today we left Grand Island NY to visit Schenectady NY for a night then to Vermont for the week.

Our home for the week

Relaxing

When it rains...you have to invent your own fun!

Grace’s curriculum isn’t as time consuming as Jackson’s so we tried a new subscription this week called Reading Eggs and so far she loves it.

In case you were wondering, Racket is still alive!! I worked outside as much as I could in the afternoons and he dozed in the grass next to me.

One rainy afternoon, Jason took the kids to the children’s museum in Buffalo.

They loved all of the interactive things to do

Yummy NY pizza with the best tiny pepperonis!

We try to grill as much as possible - I still can’t believe this is our “normal” evening ❤️

Another rainy afternoon was spent at an indoor trampoline park

With rainy weather, we’re trying to find places that the kids can run around vs wrestling or playing basketball inside the RV (which has been done!)

We took Friday off from work and school to head a few miles north to Niagra Falls State Park

After we entered into the Visitors Center we watched a short film on the Falls - we learned that people have walked on tightropes across the river by the Falls, a woman went over the Falls in a barrel (with a cat) and lived, and a 7 year old boy went over the Falls with a life jacket and lived. Amazing!

We walked through the state park to get over to Luna Island that is a strip of land between Americas Falls and Bridal Veil Falls

Looking over Americas Falls. The bridge in the distance is Rainbow Bridge that connects the US to Canada.

Going to Canada!

View from Canada! From here you can see all the Falls that make up what we call Niagra Falls.

Horseshoe Falls seen from Canada. You could take a boat into the pool of water at the bottom of the Falls - you can see the boat in this picture.

After the Falls, we headed north to Old Niagra Fort on Lake Ontario. Right inside the Visitors Center, a butterfly landed on Jackson’s hand

Wagon ride at campground

It was Halloween weekend at the campground and Jackson’s team won second place in the scarecrow challenge

Video - peaceful

Saturday we spent a few hours at the local amusement park

Jason’s least favorite ride - the ferriswheel!

The kids went on the wooden rollercoaster 5 times! No fear!

After a long day of rides all a girl needs are her daddy and bubba!
