Santiago

The point at which I realise the magnitude of my endeavour after looking at the map of South America extensively.

Flying in through the Andes into Santiago. Stunning entrance.

On the ground. The first time in this country and continent!

Watching football. The local team scoring in the last minute to win 3-2. The whole bar and surrounding establishments were celebrating. A Burger King equivalent left the customer and counter to come over and celebrate. "Golasssssooooo" South America are football mad!

I'm excited to play.

Auckland Airport

Saying goodbye to mam, Catrin and Michael. This is the longest I have been apart from mam and Catrin and Michael.

It was sad saying goodbye, but onto my adventure I must.

If you are ever stuck with transport from the airport to the city and have no where to sleep. You could talk to one of the shop workers/duty free in the airport you are in and simply ask. Not that I have tried this, but I think it would work if you asked people. Life is a numbers game. This way you have free transport, accommodation and your guide.

Opening messages.

These opening lines are telling the intention of this trip.

This trip has been largely inspired from reading the motorcycle diaries. In which Che Guevara and his friend Alberta cross South America helping the sick and the poor.

Another motivation is that there are Welsh settlements in the Patagonian region of Argentina. Where, alongside the the mountains and landscape have endeavoured to visit for a while.

I want to give and serve the people of South America

I wish to prove something too. That you can travel with little or in my case I am attempting to travel with zero, yes ZERO, nada, money. And at the "end" of my trip I want to be positive cash up.

Wherever you go it is the same. People working hard to keep paying the rent and bills!

I wish to change this, that every one can live a life of freedom.

How? Teaching people to read quicker, this way they can learn more/earn more. To elevate themselves from their current position.

Another teach people to sleep better and less through slowing down breathing. People should sleep no longer than 4.5 hours. This way they have more time on doing whatever they want. Preverably to study and education themselves further.

I was surprised that Peru had western books

Today we went into the city. To the Plaza da Aramas (Weapons square). We had a beautiful lunch fish and stuffed \240pepper.

I am in love with this place!

Arequipa

The day before yesterday we went to a football pitch, swimming and basketball. And garden centre which we found walking around.

Yesterday we went to the mall.

Today I made breakfast for Aurelia (Roćio's mum), Roćio and Lothar.

Then we played in the pool most of the afternoon. Then to a traditional Arequipan resteraunt. The food was beautiful, I had pork and potato and salad, then for pudding we had Peru doughnuts and ice cream. Then we sauntered around the city. It was a beautiful quality of light, that shone. Softly gracing the beautiful Spanish architecture and the trees.

Seeing the city at night was beautiful!

We went to a cathedral, which there are many, that was amazing architecture.

Arequipa

Today I explored the city on a bike. It was Lothars small bmx, needless to say I got a few looks. And at the end I was carrying a plant. A sight for the locals a 6"1 gringo on a small bike carrying a plastic bag with a flower in it!

9
Puno

Today I explored Puno, found football games and the uni.

10
Cusco

Today I arraived in Cusco. After a night of driving from 10pm-4:30. I arraived with no place to stay. This is both terrifying and enthralling at the same time. After getting the wifi code at the bus stop. I booked a week in a hostel.

The first part of the walk felt seriously dangerous. Stray dogs everywhere, men and women at their door fronts. I was glad to meet a local man who told me where to go. I think above all else when travelling, meeting \240people is what I enjoy most.

I wandered the city, viewing several masses, this was just what I wanted the soothing songs, as I didn't sleep well or much.

After finding the hostel, I have booked to go to Rainbow Mountain tomorrow, and Machu Pitchu on Sunday/Monday. I am excited.

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain

Today I visited Vicunca (Rainbow mountain) Got up at 3:30am.

Left at 4am. Met 3 Germans travelers from the hostel.

And then 2 Puerto Rican friends from another hostel. They spoke English well and were great fun.

The drive was spectacular. We drove through this valley up to the top. With clouds hugging the mountain.

When we got to the top, it was snowing.

The trek was incredible, at 5,000 meters it was a good but challenging hike. You could hear your heart pounding for oxygen. I pushed myself.
