We did out final lesson plan presentations today - all went great. Booked our flights to Vietnam for Friday too. All happening!
In the evening our favourite local family invited us out to dinner - Tuesday is their one day off a week - and they chose to spend it with us and Julia-Rae and John. We bought them some gifts to thank them for all their kindness. A cooking apron and pestle & mortar for Geeab. And for Ake we got him a couple of cds, a Pink Floyd tshirt and a music notepad (he loves bands). Tonight he had a tshirt on with Keith Richards face on it. We tried to translate that we know where Keith lives in Wittering - we think they understood!
The whole family came out for dinner; Geeab, Ake, I, JJ and Beh. They took us to a lovely restaurant on the other side of Hua Hin that they go to every month. The kids were already there and had lots of starters laid out ready for us and drinks. Honestly we can’t describe how lovely they are, they’re so giving, constantly.
Alex’s Thai really helps us all communicate. And they are amazed at how much Alex can eat - Geeab finds it hilarious. They’re teaching us lots of words and new foods too. The boys ate chicken feet again! Geeab ordered me vegetables and told the waiter I don’t eat meat - I love her! This time we were able to make a deal to split the bill - Ake wouldn’t let us pay for all of it. So much so that the children came with us to the bathroom each time when of us went because we’d tried to pay in secret!
Another wonderful evening with them. We’re going back to their restaurant for dinner tomorrow. Going to be sad to say goodbye to them!
