Good news: I’m here!
Bad news: still sitting on the plane because a passenger “fell ill” and we have to go through quarantine procedures.

Tim Tams and rugby. It’s a very Australian afternoon
I walked through a huge botanical garden and this was at the end of the path. Not an ordinary mid-week evening.
The herb section of the huge Botanic garden. I smelled everything.
Finally getting time together! With me staying on PST for work, we have not even had dinner together until tonight. Enjoying an outdoor concert of The xx in downtown Sydney
I made it to Bondi Beach! The walk I went on is a popular walk along the east coast
Sunset at Watson’s Bay. Awesome ending to the day!
And because I don’t have enough Opera House pictures, here’s our view from the ferry ride back:
I went snorkeling after work and saw a bunch of fish!
This is how happy I was to have seen fish:
Opera house again, this time standing on the harbor bridge on Australian day
We went back to Manly Beach. I swam in the ocean pool and saw an Australian water dragon walking around.
We flew to Cairns and drove on the wrong side of the road. Now we’re at our hotel.
Today we visited the Great Barrier Reef! One of us is more excited than the other.
I’m the one splashing in at the beginning of this clip.
We spent the day at Magnetic Island. It’s named because Captain Cook’s compass was broken and he thought the island had some weird magnetic pull.
We saw rock wallabies. Jeff fed one water while I did a snorkel trail.
Even though weather wasn’t ideal, we went on a boat ride to the Whithaven islands. Winds were 35 knots, so it was beyond an exhilarating wild ride!
I went snorkeling and didn’t see much other than a bunch of fish.
We hiked a bit (they called it a “bush walk”) and had a great point of view.
We stopped at a place called Champagne Beach for lunch. It’s called that because there is air between the grains of sand, so bubbles always come up!
It’s been a couple driving days. We went through Agnes Water, which apparently is a good place for surfing.
Today we are at Fraser Island, all sand and has a rainforest. We went on a 4x4 tour bus as well as a short plane ride.
This is a rainwater lake in the middle of the island.
Here’s where we’ve been resting the past few days:
It’s very secluded and pitch black at night. The water here is all rain water!
It’s the Year of the Dog at Sydney Opera House. His tongue and tail wag.
They had all the other zodiac symbols, too. This was my favorite.
We saw Carmen at the opera house! It was set in Cuba instead of Spain. That took a bit of getting used to, but it grew on me. Overall it was very well done.
