Life is known to be a winding path and sometimes when you really feel that you are up against odds, that it throws up some delightful surprises that makes it worth the entire journey.
Aditi and I had the opportunity to go on a short vacation together after she returned from her boarding this spring. As sneha couldn’t make it due to her clients sessions, I made arrangements for a spa vacation for aditi to relax and rejuvenate. It would be fair to say that even I felt quite worn out over the last 6 months and was looking forward to some relaxation myself.
I made bookings at Angsana spa of which I had heard a lot, but had never the opportunity to visit. We drove there on Saturday morning, but soon started discovering that the place wasn’t much to our liking due to the quality of food and service.
We watched the opening match of the IPL season and gobbled up the food and chilled together doing absolutely nothing and playing word games and talking about her hostel life, friends, plans and aspirations. Also we had a relaxing spa session in the afternoon through which I went in and out of sleep, translating to - I really enjoyed the session.
Next morning after breakfast, I couldn’t bear to see that aditi wasn’t having fun and was trying to make the best of the situation. I then decided to make bookings at a different hotel and we checked out and drove to Shangri-la. Considering aditi hadn’t had a decent meal since Saturday afternoon, she made the best of the Sunday buffet and we had a great time at lunch filling ourselves up to our gills !
Next we booked ourselves a spa session with the able assistance of Dr Jazzy who we found to be a very entertaining hostess at the Shangri-la spa.
Later in the evening we had cocktails at the lounge on the top deck and then watched the second match of the season together. Unfortunate RCB lost despite posting a fantastic score and aditi wasn’t happy with their performance:-)
Next morning after a relaxed breakfast, we took to the pool and goofed around in the swimming pool for an hour or so before deciding to have lunch just before checkout at their chinese restaurant.
We had so much fun together doing just absolutely nothing but spending time with each other and I loved the part where we cozied up to each other on the bed and slept comfortably. It was just bliss and I really liked spending time with my beautiful baby who had grown into such a strong, independent and strong willed young woman.
It was a wonderful short vacation !
