Milwaukee

Downtown Milwaukee stands a statue of The Fonz.

The granite archway of the Pabst Theater was unbeliveably beautiful. \240It is just a block away from the Milwaukee River.

We went to a Brewers game with Spencer and Ali. \240They beat the San Francisco Giants. \240It was fun to attend a big league game.

Traffic on the Milwaukee River.

DeForest

We are in the land of Wisconsin cheese!

3
Madison

Madison is home of the badgers. \240It feels like a college town, and they are true blue UW fans. \240The city is nestled between three lakes, and is quite beautiful.

One will find old and new here.

This is a panoramonic shot of the capitol dome, which sits in the center of Madison.

From the capitol steps toward Lake Monona.

We drove around the lake on the way out of Madison. \240It was a lovely day for stand-up boarding.

4
Sunnybrook Park

We went for a bike ride tonight. \240The trails here are beautifully maintained, and we saw plenty of cottontail rabbits and lightening bugs.

Here's the Sunset as a storm brews.

5
DeForest

The old John Deere and a map of Wisconsin painted on someones's barn is a good representation of the area where we are staying. \240It's nice to be here.

6
Wisconsin Cheese Mart

Cheese, beautiful cheese.

7
May Apple Circle

A bike ride tonight. \240Tomorrow, we head off to Minnesota.

8
Wisconsin Dells

As we traveled the state of Wisconsin, we pass across the Wisconsin River and into the glacially formed 'Dells', which are sandstone formations and valleys, made by glacial rocks scraping the land. \240We haven't seen rolling hills like this since we entered Nebraska.

For the most part, the valleys, with exposed sandstone sides, seem to be the prominent glacial feature. \240We were delighted and surprised to find this tall feature well above the neighboring corn fields.
